Antiques

The roots of Silver Creek Antique & Estate trace back to 1938 in Bristol, Rhode Island. As many of the grand Newport "Cottages" were sadly demolished or sold for taxes and family collections from pre-Revolutionary homes were put up for sale, Silver Creek Antiques acquired the priceless antiques that built the foundation of its vast collection. Silver Creek became an important antique source of southern New England.

With a discerning eye and a treasure hunter's heart, single pieces or entire estates were purchased across Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Hampshire and Massachusetts. When necessary,  the master craftsman from neighboring Herreshoff Yacht Makers would be called in to create seamless repairs of the fine wood furniture in need of care.

With a shop located in a 1780 storefront in Bristol, dealers and collectors would travel from all over the country to find original 17th & 18th Century American furniture and art.   The years passed and the demand and collection grew. In the 1950s their premier collection of American Brilliant Cut Glass was established.

Today, in its third generation, Silver Creek Antique & Estate is centered on the North Shore of Long Island, where the treasure hunter's heart has been passed down from grandmother to granddaughter.

Her Yankee spirit of diligence, research, hard work and a job well done has been instilled in our collecting and selling of fine antiques and glass - pieces that are still available today -  if you know where to find them.

We offer antique services from appraisals to buying and selling. Our knowledge puts us a step ahead when we conduct our Sales, often yielding a homeowner a much higher return on their grandmother's treasure.
